What to include

The more the contractor knows before they call, the better the first conversation. A few lines is enough:

• Your suburb. We pass enquiries to contractors by area.
• The type of property: freestanding house, townhouse, complex, estate home, smallholding or business.
• What you need: roof waterproofing, a leak repaired, roof repairs, flat roof waterproofing, damp-proofing, or a plan for a shared roof.
• The roof, as far as you know it: tiled, metal sheeting, flat concrete, or a mix.
• What you can see: a stain on a ceiling, damp on a wall, cracked or slipped tiles, water standing on a flat roof, or a blocked gutter.
• When it started, and whether it only happens in heavy or wind-driven rain.
• Anything about approvals: an estate, a body corporate or a shared roof with a neighbour.

What happens next

We pass your enquiry to an independent waterproofing contractor who covers your suburb and does the kind of work you need. The contractor contacts you directly, asks any questions and arranges a look at the roof if one is needed. They quote you directly, and you decide whether to go ahead. Ask them what system they propose and what preparation is included.
